Description

Need an idea for a wonderful day trip? Give yourself two general admission tickets to Boscobel House & Gardens. Situated on a bluff on the east bank of the Hudson River, Boscobel House & Gardens offers its visitors astounding views of the river and the Hudson Highlands. Completed in 1808 for the States Dyckman family, Boscobel House is widely regarded as one of the finest examples of Federal architecture in the country with an extensive collection of Federal-period furniture and decorative arts. Boscobel's experienced staff guides visitors back in time with tours of Boscobel House. The grounds -- magnificent gardens, springhouse, pond, fountain and woodland trail, complete with rustic cedar structures and glorious scenery -- are open for independent strolling and picnicking. And finally, stop by the Visitors Center at the Carriage House to view an exhibit on the rescue and restoration of Boscobel, and sneak a little shopping in, too. Boscobel's Museum Shop offers unique and interesting items for all. (Expiration date 12/31/10)
