Description

A baby born after 24 weeks has a nearly complete cochlea (hearing organ) and sensory organs and when born prematurely, they are thrust out of the quiet atmosphere of the womb into the NICU. In quiet environments, infants can hear and discriminate the human voice, this gives them the opportunity to hear and respond to voices of family. Auditory learning is important for language acquisition and social attachment processes.  There is evidence that unusual stimulation in the third trimester of pre term babies, such as noise levels that are much higher than they would have been in the uterus, can result in atypical brain development.

The SoundEar presents a clear and unmistakable warning as soon as the noise exceeds the user selected limit. Children and adults can easily understand the warning symbol so that immediate action can be taken. It mounts on the wall and is powered from the power supply that is supplied with it.

Unlike most other noise warning signs, this one is nicely designed to looks at home on the wall of any office, school room or factory. You can read more about the SoundEar 2000 at the NoiseSign web site.
