Description

Do you love California Wine?

Take this opportunity to purchase an exquisite case of California red wine!

Brought to you from the cellars of Captain Vineyards itself, this case consists of the following fine rouge French varieties:  two bottles of Petite Sirah, 2006; six bottles of Petite Sirah, 2007; and four bottles Pinot Noir, 2008.

These wines’ discriminating heritage can be traced back to the conditions in which the grapes were conceived.  Made from the highest French quality Rhone, Bordeaux and Burgundy clones, grafted on hardy American rootstock, the grapes are cultivated by members of the Captain family in appetite, biodynamic vineyard located in the hills of the San Francisco Bay.  At a thousand feet above sea-level, the vineyard is terraced  at about 35 degrees, enabling natural and eco-friendly drainage; the soil is comprised of clay loam, allowing for self-sufficient nutrient absorption;  the temperature fluctuates in the 80s during the day while fog hugs the hillsides in the evenings reducing the temperature to the 50s ensuring a delicate balance of water, sugar, and complexity.

The vineyard and winery was born as a vision of Mr. and Mrs. Captain with their four children, one of which is an undergrad at UCLA. After years of hard work and research at institutions such as UC Davis, their dream unfolded into reality as the knowledge they acquired consistently pointed to the numerous agricultural advantages of their farm’s location.

Harvest is conducted by members of the family and their friends to guarantee that only the best quality fruit is used in the fermentation process.  The Captains have made it their mission to bring the highest quality wine to their family and friends in the most naturally sustainable way possible.

Wine will be shipped to winner.
