Description

Set of African instruments, including a small African djembe (hand drum), African clave, and tambourine.

Djembe: a skin-covered hand drum shaped like a large goblet and meant to be played with bare hands, 8" in diameter, 12" in height.

Clave:  Follows African tradition with a larger Clave (9" L) and smaller Striker (8" L). Cut away sound chamber features a hollowed center for broader, more open tones.

Tambourine: While extremely familiar to all societies, the Tambourine actually finds in roots in Africa. The Tambourine is widely heard in African religious services. During services, a musician or ordinary church member may play the Tambourine while singing songs of praise. Also, during family prayer sessions, the mother or father of the family may play the tambourine and sing songs of praise following the prayer.
