Description

Are you an amateur musician looking to learn more about how to improvise on your instrument of choice? Do you love rock, pop, R&B, funk, or do you have a curiosity about jazz? Here is your chance to have a rare inside look at the world of the professional recording musician, through two hour-long lessons on piano/keyboard, or on the art of improvisation/accompaniment with your instrument of choice (guitar, saxophone, trumpet, drums, etc.).

About Larry Goldings: Nominated for Best Jazz Album Grammy in 2007, musician Larry Goldings has recorded, toured, and performed with artists such as James Taylor, John Mayer, Norah Jones, Steve Gadd, Tracy Chapman, Michael Brecker, Melody Gardot, Charlie Haden, Herbie Hancock, Al Jarreau, Jack DeJohnnette, John Scofield, and Maceo Parker, to name a few. His distinctive keyboard sound can be heard on hundreds of albums in genres including jazz, funk, pop, R&B, alternative, and Brazilian music. Since 2001, he has been pianist/arranger for singer-songwriter James Taylor. Their most recent collaboration is Taylor's "One Man Band," released on CD and DVD in November 2007 on the Hear Music Label. The introspective album grew out of their three-year tour of the United States and Europe--featuring some of Taylor's most beloved songs and anecdotes about their creative origins--accompanied solely by the "one man band" of his longtime pianist/keyboardist, Larry Goldings.
