Pizzulli wines embody the character of their namesake, Cosimo Pizzulli, who brought the organice methods of Apulia, Italy, handed down since the 1780s, to the U.S. Now his grandson continues the tradition with his famly of lovingly crafted small-batch wines, producing only 150 cases of classic Italian varietals each harvest.

Aging in French oak barriques for 18 months helped bring out the dense blackberry and plum scents of the heady Barbera and full-flavored Dolcetto, while balancing slight acidity with mild tannins.

The fruit-forward Sangiovese was aged in Franch oak barriques for 18 months, which enhances its velvety scents of black cherry, vanilla, and rose.
