Description
Don't miss this "sure-fire hit." LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE THE MUSICAL will launch a 34-week national tour in October. The production company offers four tickets for the presentation of Little House on the Prairie the Musical for the June 8, 2010, production during the show's run in Ft. Worth, Texas, at Bass Hall. All seats will be adjoining and "best available."
Melissa Gilbert, who rose to fame as a child playing "Laura" in the hugely successful NBC television series “Little House on the Prairie” during the 1970’s, now continues her legacy "on the prairie" by taking on the role of Ma. The production will also star Steve Blanchard as Pa and Kara Lindsay as Laura. During its world premiere production in August 2008 at the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis, LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE THE MUSICAL shattered all box-office records and sold-out for 12 consecutive weeks. Initiated for the stage by Adrianne Lobel (Frog and Toad) and Francesca Zambello, the show is directed by Zambello (Disney’s The Little Mermaid), with music by Academy Award winner Rachel Portman (Emma), lyrics by Donna di Novelli and a book by Tony Award winner Rachel Sheinkin (The 25TH Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee).
Special Instructions
LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE with Melissa Gilbert as Ma, a new touring musical based on the beloved Laura Ingalls Wilder series of classic American books, is proud to announce its partnership with THE SEEING EYE, which is celebrating its 80th year bringing dog guide services to blind people across the United States and Canada.
LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE THE MUSICAL and THE SEEING EYE anticipate that this collaboration will convey the same spirit of independence, courage and ability to overcome adversity that both the book series and THE SEEING EYE founders first portrayed 80 years ago. LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE THE MUSICAL and THE SEEING EYE have developed a community outreach program that will strengthen the awareness of services that enhance independence for blind people and will teach about respect and etiquette towards people who are blind. As such, they are planning special presentations in each touring city prior to the show's arrival, at venues to include government offices and schools.
