In 1870, the Eastern Yacht Club was formed when twelve men created an organization dedicated to the promotion of yachting. Over the years, the Eastern has established itself as one of the most distinguished yacht clubs in America.

The Eastern Clubhouse, home to three dining rooms, a clubroom, a living room, a porch that overlooks the harbor, and several guest rooms, is located at 47 Foster Street on Marblehead Neck, located 18 miles north of Boston.
