Spend a week in the White family’s two-bedroom maison de bourg in St. Cyprien, a charming hillside village six miles from Les Eyzies and minutes from Sarlat, Beynac, and La Roque Gageac. The house has two bedrooms and a finished attic, and sleeps five. There is no yard, terrace, or balcony, but the top floor offers superb views of the valley. This house is a wonderful base for exploring the famous Périgord Noir region, which is home not only to cave art, fabulous medieval châteaux and walled towns, and kid-friendly activities like canoeing, but is also a mecca for good food. (Foie gras or truffles, anyone?)
