Description

The Red Cardinals are all excited to know that they could make a difference in another child’s life and help to better our school. They worked diligently as classroom teams to contribute to the school’s fund raising event.

This Peace poster derives from our Martin Luther King lesson, preceded by our “Kindness and Love” lessons for K and L week.

During our Martin Luther King study, we began to share with the children the importance of living your life with love and peace in your hearts. The children began to see how even they can make a difference in their community by learning how to use their words to compromise and get along because even though in life we may not all agree on everything, we can live in harmony with our neighbors, friends, and families.

This was the foundation of our lesson and fundraising projects. We explained that only one person would end up with each of their beautiful, cooperative art works, but we stressed that a lot of children, future VPC students were going to be blessed by their teamwork.

For this inspiring poster, the children painted all the images, and their own words about What Peace Means to Them are the heart of this project.

Many thanks to all the Red Cardinals teachers who helped to make this happen!
