Description
$50 Gift Certificate toward any program at Wildlife Learning Center in Sylmar. The main objective of the Wildlife Learning Foundation is to bring natural science education to students attending schools and communities with limited access and exposure to the outdoors. Through outreach and onsite education we aim to reach students attending schools and communities that have limited access and exposure to natural science education and experiences. The foundation hopes to expand the Wildlife Learning Center by building interactive exhibits, therefore creating a center where youth can learn about and experience nature. Additionally, funds are used to support the care of dozens of rescued and rehabilitated animals, to provide school outreach programs, veterinary care, daily animal care, enclosure construction and maintenance and general operating costs. The Wildlife Learning Foundation primarily funds outreach programs of the Wildlife Learning Center that teaches California State Science Standards for the natural sciences through the use of rescued and captive born wild animals in the care of professional trainers. The Wildlife Learning Center is located in Sylmar within an old olive grove that provides a shady and natural retreat for learning about wildlife. Each Wildlife Learning Center teacher has a Bachelor's degree in biology and is trained to teach the California State Science Standards for the natural sciences utilizing wildlife as living visual aids. The Wildlife Learning Center works to educate youth of all socioeconomic levels about the wildlife we share the planet with.
