Description
One RCP Tiburon Mile open water race registration for Sunday, October 17, 2010 along with a piloted pre-race training swim with the Woodhead Family at the South End Rowing Club at Aquatic Park in SF, plus a pre-race 1/2 hour group swim lesson with an Olympic Gold Medalist (actual medalist to be determined) on Saturday, October 16. The one nautical mile swim begins on Angel Island and ends on the beach near Sam's in Tiburon. Registration includes ferry ride to Angel Island and post race lunch in Tiburon. The RCP Tiburon Mile founded in 1999 by Robert Placak, a Marin County native and Tiburon resident, has quickly become known as the most competitive and prestigious open water swim even in the world. Hundreds of swimmers of all ages will once again converge upon the town of Tiburon and battle the waters of the Raccoon Straight on Sunday, October 17.
