Description
Come be our guests for a weekend of wine tasting in the historic Shenandoah Valley of Amador County. Voted Frommer?s ?No. 1 Attraction for 2006? and ?The Best Place to Vacation? by Money Magazine, Amador County is famous for its award-winning red Zinfandels. Your group of eight will enjoy a 2 night stay at The Hanford House Inn in Sutter Creek, CA. After a relaxing stay Friday night, your group will start off the day with a luxury limousine service and a suggested list of local wineries to visit on Saturday afternoon. You?ll be dropped off at Dobra Zemlja Winery for a private tour of the property by owner Mike Dougherty, be able to walk the vineyards, pick and crush grapes with bare feet, cork, foil, bottle and label some wine. We?ll send your group home with a case of your favorite Dobra wine. After you?re finished picking, crushing and bottling, we?ll serve you an Italian home cooked meal -- Polenta Taragna cooked in the old rustic country style over an open fire, smoked Tri Tip, Caprese salad and Tiramisu. We?ll serve you the meal in the wine cave (the only cave in the Shenandoah Valley) amongst the wine barrels. Finish off the day by listening to Blues music at the Drytown Club; the first round is on your hosts! Wake up Sunday morning and enjoy a leisurely day touring the charming Gold Rush towns of Amador City, Sutter Creek, Jackson, and Volcano or browse through the antique shops, art galleries, and museums. The history, beauty and hospitality of Amador County and Dobra Zemlja Winery promises to be an unforgettable experience!
