Laura Boles Faw was born in Atlanta and now resides in San Francisco.  She has a BA in Art History from Sewanee and will receive her MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute in May 2010.  Through her work, Boles Faw deconstructs perceptions of reality through the transformation of material, privileging the intimate gesture, the idiosyncratic juxtaposition of one material to another, and ultimately the denial of preconceived notions.
