Alexander Kvares was born into a family of artists in Kiev, Ukraine (then USSR) in 1975. After receiving a BFA in painting from the University of Kansas, Lawrence (1997) he began graduate studies at University of Texas in Austin. And still has fond memories of both cities. Soon (2001) after graduating with an MFA in printmaking, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia. And he still lives there, making art, teaching and slowly growing old and wise.
