Since 1990, Pam Longobardi has had over 30 solo exhibitions and 65 group exhibitions in galleries and museums in the US, China, Italy, Spain, Finland, Poland, Japan and elsewhere. Her artworks are in numerous collections including commissions for Benziger Winery, the Hyatt Corporation, the Atlanta Hartsfield International Airport, Fulton County Medical Examiner's Facility and First Tennessee Bank, Memphis. Her work involves painting, prints, photography and installations and addresses the psychological relationship between humans and the natural world. Longobardi was artist in residence through the BAU Institute in Otranto, Italy, Italy in 2009 and NY Arts/Beijing during the 2008 Olympics. She was included in the 2004 exhibition Birdspace shown at the New Orleans Contemporary Art Center, Norton Museum of Art, Hudson River Museum and four other US museums. She received a 1994 SAF\NEA Visual Artist Fellowship in Painting and1997 Tennessee Arts Commission Visual Arts Fellowship. In 2005 Longobardi was named recipient of Georgia State University's Outstanding Faculty Achievement Award, where she is Professor of Art. Longobardi currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia and has created the Drifters Project, www.driftwebs.com, an ongoing collaborative interdisciplinary project focusing on marine debris and plastics pollution. In early 2010, she will have a book published by Charta (Milan, NY) on the Drifters project.
