Mitchell has exhibited widely, including at the National Museum of Women in the Arts, the American Academy & Institute of Arts & Letters in NY, the High Museum, MOCA GA, the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center (solo, 2005), The Factory, Kunsthalle, Krems, Austria (solo, 2006), Atlanta City Gallery East (solo with catalogue, 2007). Her work is in numerous public, corporate and private collections, including those of the High Museum, the Speed Museum, the Arkansas Art Center, MOCA GA, the Carlos Museum, Agnes Scott College, etc. She has recently retired after teaching 29 years in the Visual Arts Dept. of Emory University. Mitchell, a Hambidge Center for the Creative Arts & Sciences Fellow, is represented in Atlanta by Sandler Hudson Gallery, where she completed a solo exhibition in January.
