Rebecca Morris was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and lives and works in Los Angeles, CA. She received her BA from Smith College in 1991, her MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (1994) and attended The Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture (1994). A solo survey exhibition of her paintings was held at the Renaissance Society, Chicago in 2005. She is represented by Galerie Barbara Weiss (Berlin, Germany). Morris was the recipient of a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship (2008) and a Tiffany Award (1999).
