Prema Murthy was born in Seattle, WA. She received her MFA from Goldsmith's College, London and a BA in art history from the University of Texas, Austin. Her work has been shown in numerous exhibitions in the U.S. and abroad at venues including PS1/MoMA Contemporary Art Center, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the New Museum of Contemporary Art, the Reina Sofia Museum-Madrid, the Generali Foundation-Vienna, and the India Habitat Center-New Delhi. Her works are in numerous public and private collections including the Queens Museum of Art and the Neuberger Berman Collection.
