With an impressive command of palette and materials Parlato creates abstractions whose surfaces shimmer with movement and vibrant color. Carolanna Parlato received her MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute. She has participated in numerous group exhibitions including "Material Color" at the Hunterdon Art Museum and Open at The Brooklyn Museum. She has had a solo exhibition at the Islip Art Museum (NY), the OH+T Gallery (Boston) and will be having her second solo show with the Elizabeth Harris Gallery in NYC in February 2010. Ms. Parlato's paintings have been reviewed in Art in America, the New York Sun and in the New York Times. Her work is included in private and public collections including Pfizer Inc, the Brooklyn Museum and the Francis Greenberger collection. She currently lives and works in Brooklyn.
