Learn skills to live and cope with stress with the Center for Spirituality and Healing's eight week MBSR program.
Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, is about taking control of your life, being aware of influences that affect your well-being and health, and finding peace of mind and balance in an oftentimes chaotic world. MBSR provides instruction on how to consciously and methodically deal with stress, pain, illness, and the demanding challenges of everyday life.
The course meets once a week for eight weeks, with one daylong Saturday or Sunday class. Program includes:
- Guided instruction in mindfulness meditation practices
- Group discussions
- Gentle stretching and yoga
- daily "homework"
- Individual, tailored instruction
- CD's and workbook
- CEU's available for an additional $25 fee
The successful bidder will choose from one of three Summer 2010 offerings:
- Tuesdays, July 6 to August 24, 2010
Time: 9:30 am - 12:00 noon - Wednesdays, July 7 to August 25, 2010
Time: 6:30 to 9:00 pm - Mondays, July 12 to August 30, 2010
Time: 6:30 to 9:00 pm
