Description

This elegant serpentine fish is sculpted by a Zimbabwean tribesman. It makes a powerful statement that is both simplistic in its natural expression, but complex in the texturally intricate stone patterning and scored finwork.

In Shona folklore, when someone dreams of a tsomba  or fish, it is a good omen and said that he or she will soon be the recipient of

wealth and a good harvest. The Shona people look forward with

great hope to the dream wherein the magical fish will appear and

herald a future blessed with prosperity.©
