This elegant, full-bodied Syrah has the vibrant aromas of crushed blackberries, blueberry and violets with notes of cedar and tobacco. The fresh fruit flavors are lifed with bright acidity and supported by hints of white pepper, toasted oak and firm tannin structure.  The grapes primarily come from the notable vineyards, Preston Ranch in the Russian River Valley and Valley of the Moon's own Palo Alto estate vineyards located in the Sonoma Valley. 

This 2005 Syrah makes an ideal accompaniment to game, lamb, beef, and pork dishes.
