Description

Join food writer GraceAnn Walden on a culinary and history walking tour for two of a favorite San Francisco ethnic neighborhood.  You may choose one from any of the following tours:

North Beach Pizza Lovers' tour:  The North Beach experience - Italian history, food knowledge, and a spectacular repast.  You'll go behind the scenes in a focaccia bakery, a chocolatier, a professional kitchen, and visit a butcher, shrine and ceramic store. Also, a visit to Sts. Peter & Paul church.

Chinatown Evening Tour: You'll enjoy a seven-course banquet, that includes seafood, roasted duck, rice and paired wine. Visits include a Buddhist monastery, a unique musical instrument store, a Fortune cookie factory, a special religious goods store, an herbalist and a tea tasting. You must like seafood, since the restaurant is Hong Kong style.  Sorry, no vegetarians.

New Mission tour & visit to Mission Dolores: This tour includes the history of the Mission and tour of the Mission Dolores & adjacent Basilica. You'll enjoy pastries and coffee/tea at Tartine Bakery, cheese/olive tastes at Bi-Rite, and have lunch at the neighborhood favorite, the fabulous Bar Bambino.
