Leo Demostene and his bride, Rose Ferrari, dreamed to have a winery of thieir own. They purchased Sausal Ranch, 25 acres in Alexander Valley. Their land had prunes, apples and original Zinfandel vines planted before 1877.  In the 1960's, the Demostene Famly sowed scores of acres of new zinfandel and cabernet sauvignon plantings.

Today, the winery brings us to the third generation of this winemaking family, and from their remarkable effort, Leo's sogni d'oro, his "golden dream", came true.
