Local Artist, Nancy Lipson, will come to our "All You Need Is Love" event and paint a colorful, London scene entitled, "Calling London Blossoms". Nancy uses acrylic paint and a unique impasto palette knife technique. She will begin the painting in her art studio and finish it in front of our very eyes at the event. The winning bidder will take this sure to be beautiful painting home with them to brighten up his/her home and enjoy for years to come.

While growing up in Denver I took private art lessons for years and worked in virtually every medium while discovering the classic concepts of color, design and perspective. Now, I paint in acrylic mixed with a thickening agent and apply the paint with palette knives. I view texture and vibrant color streaking as the two central components of my work. While my technique is unconventional, it allows me to convey the spontaneity and freedom that I experience while painting. My paintings have as much as one-inch of texture, and streaks of liquid-like color. I paint a variety of subjects, but I do lean toward modern floral views, as the uneven and non-linear lines in nature parallel the untamed sense of my technique. I attended the Denver Public Schools through high school and then graduated from Colorado College and the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Currently, I reside in Denver, Colorado. Since 2004, I have had the fortunate opportunity to show my artwork with Abend Gallery. | |
