Up for auction is an original piece of art from Eren Alptekin. The dimensions are 26x30 framed.

Eren Alptekin graduated as an architect with emphasis on art, art history and restoration from Technical University of Istanbul, followed by a masters degree in architecture from Columbia University, N.Y. in 1985.

While pursuing her career, art has always been a very important part of her life. She has been painting for over two decades, working with water colors, acrylics, charcoal and oils.  Her exposure to history, various art forms, and different cultures during her travels abroad often provides inspirational input for her paintings. Her earlier paintings depict expressive style, with a subject matter of landscapes, plain air, seascapes, cityscapes, and still lives with water based mediums. Her recent work reflects an abstract approach in various multi media techniques. Her bold compositions derive from simple elements of daily life, like human figures or various organic/inorganic shapes. They are supplemented by strong contrast of light as well as a spatial movement of texture and color palette.

She is currently exhibiting at the Sandstone Gallery in Laguna Beach, CA.
