The information about each horse (listed in alphabetical order), includes, name, sex, color, date of birth, strain, sire and dam plus the aforementioned information on the parents.  This is a great book to find strains of many of today's horses.   Many breeders still use the strains to help produce the type of horse they wish to breed for a particular look or job.
