Sheri has been an equine artist since she was 8 years old, drawing horses on every piece of paper she could find. She started selling her work at the same age, selling her drawings to classmates.

Taking art classes every year through high school was her only education in art, in oil painting, watercolor, charcoal and colored pencil. Everything she drew or painted was a horse, as no other subject interested her more. After putting art aside for years, she began painting model horses in 1998, soonafter her second child was born, to sell on the Internet and help support the family. When her work sold well, she decided to paint full-time and made a name for herself in the model horse hobby. Then she began sculpting horses in clay, and having them cast in resin to paint and sell. The resin Arabian horse head in this auction was sculpted from insulation foam and drywall mud, before a mold was made and then a hollow resin casting was made from that mold. She continues to paint and sculpt horses, and she often says, “ I would not be an artist at all if horses did not exist”.

Sheri is a wife and mother of 2 teenagers, runs a business with her husband, and owns two horses (a Paint Horse gelding and an Arabian mare), 4 cats and a dog. She resides with her family in eastern Tennessee .
