This Gift Certificate is good for two admissions to Boscobel House and Gardens. In addition to admission to the grounds and garden, this certificate will enable the bearer to take a docent guided tour of the beutiful 1808 House, situated on a bluff overlooking the Hudson River and West Point. Boscobel House & Gardens offers its visitors inspirational and astounding views of the river and the Hudson Highlands.
Completed in 1808 for the States Dyckman family, Boscobel House is widely regarded as one of the finest examples of Federal architecture in the country. It contains an extensive and important collection of Federal-period furniture and decorative arts, many of which were crafted by premier New York cabinetmakers Duncan Phyfe and Michael Allison.
Boscobel’s experienced docent staff guides visitors through a step back in time with tours of Boscobel House. The grounds – a magnificent rose garden, orangery, herb garden, springhouse, pond, fountain and woodland trail, complete with rustic cedar structures and glorious scenery – are open for independent strolling and picnicking.
Stop by the Visitors Center at the Carriage House to view a fascinating exhibit on the rescue and restoration of Boscobel, and sneak a little shopping in, too. Boscobel’s Museum Shop offers unique and interesting items for all.
A little-known fact: artists are welcome to Boscobel on the second Tuesday every month, at no admission, to practice their talents on our postcard-worthy scenery.
Boscobel’s Exhibition Gallery, unveiled in 2008, isl ocated on the lower level of the mansion. A calm and peaceful space, its function will be to showcase exceptional art exhibits throughout the year, providing visitors with yet another reason to visit and enjoy Boscobel House & Gardens.
As an established tourist attraction, Boscobel has been home to the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival for more than 22 years. This critically-acclaimed theater production company attracts over 30,000 fans each summer. As such, Hudson Valley Magazine readers voted Boscobel as a Best Of Hudson Valley Winner for Outdoor Venue for Plays and Concerts two years in a row.
After your visit at Boscobel, explore the nineteenth-century village of Cold Spring with its numerous antique and specialty shops, fine restaurants and a gazebo on the river’s edge. Additional nearby attractions include Bear Mountain State Park, Manitoga, Dia Beacon and West Point.
