A small, refined Long Beach Island hotel and restaurant, The Gables is a meticulously restored Victorian Inn combining the charm of a fine 1890s home with contemporary comforts and the finest food and service. Our award-winning restaurant is a destination in itself, at any time.

An overnight stay in one of our five romantic guestrooms provides a rare break from everyday stresses and strains. Complete with period furnishings and fine linens, each has a working fireplace or a free-standing iron stove — and also includes modern amenities like a luxurious marble bathroom, flat screen TV and WIFI. A gourmet breakfast is included.

Located on the ocean side of historic Beach Haven, NJ on LBI, our New Jersey inn makes the perfect base for exploring nearby attractions. Right down the street, the Surflight presents live, legitimate theatre; a sugar sand beach is a block away; tour fishing boats are available for hire; and galleries, antiques shops and bookstores beckon. Farther afield, the Jersey bay shore has invitingly weathered little towns that date back to the seafaring 1600s; New Jersey wineries offer tours and tastings; and local salt marshes and coves attract thousands of migratory birds that delight visitors. We have five beautifully appointed double-occupancy guestrooms at the newly restored Gables, our Long Beach Island bed and breakfast. The rooms reflect the sumptuous Victorian décor of the time. Each has been individually furnished with period antiques and accessories, a mirrored armoire, Aubusson-style needlepoint carpet and an extremely comfortable Kingsdown queen-sized bed. All rooms have marble bathrooms, four with whirlpool spa tubs, and one, the “Bailey Lloyd,” has a marble half bath with a romantic Victorian claw foot bubble jet tub right in the bedroom. 

Other amenities you’ll enjoy during your stay at our New Jersey B&B include fine linens and Egyptian cotton towels, terry-lined brocade bathrobes and imported French toiletries. Three rooms have working fireplaces with carved marble mantels; the other two have working iron stoves.

Each room has flat screen TV, WIFI, DVD/CD player, hair dryer, and iron. Beach passes and special towels just for the beach are furnished.

In addition, a large library/sitting room is available for the exclusive use of Inn guests. An overnight stay includes a gourmet breakfast served in our Parlor or your room, whichever you prefer.
