In 1868, two or our student's great great great grandfather bought a farm in VT.  Today, it is still in operation by members of the fifth generation of the family.  In late winter, as the weather warms, they can be found, sometimes on snowshoes, tapping sugar maples, collecting sap, or transporting it to the sugar house , often by sled.
