Healing horses is offering four individual 30 minutes therapeutic lessons to the highest bidder.

"At Healing Horses Therapeutic Riding Center we believe with appropriate individualized services, support, therapy and information, children with special needs will grow learn and flourish.  We will be utilizing a multi-prong therapeutic approach that will produce positive changes in critical areas of development including but not limited to core muscle strength, improved balance, speech and vocalizations, positive behavior, self esteem, visual motor and spatial skills.  The goal is to maximize the child's functioning in their homes, schools and communities by increasing their language, reducing negative behaviors, increasing core muscle strength, improving relationships with peers, parents, teachers and caregivers, peer play, joint attention, self care and overall self esteem and independence.  We are committed to being an inspiration and educational resource of the Therapeutic Riding profession.  Our vision is a community where people, regardless of ability, can achieve their fullest potential."

Healing Horses is NARHA certified and the riding program is multi-faceted.  We teach English, Western and Bareback riding to accomplish specific therapeutic goals as well as providing physical, emotional, behavioral and speech therapy on horseback. We work toward educational goals such as pre-reading and reading, mathematics and sequencing.   The first words or signs of many of our non-verbal riders are related to riding.  Therapy is fun instead of painful when provided on horseback. Learning becomes a game rather than a chore.  Horseback riding is a complex activity that requires integration from many different systems in the body.  From the beginning, riders learn balance, coordination and self-assurance while receiving physical and verbal stimulation from the three dimensional movement of the horse as well as typical peer models, fellow riders and horse leaders. Posture, strength, and flexibility improve as does independence and a sense of control.  New confidence and positive attitudes acquired in the riding ring transfer to the classroom, home and community.

Healing Horses is located at: 2735 Santa Maria Road, Topanga Canyon, CA‎
