About the artist:
Bonnie Acker works in oil and pastel. She is a lifelong artist who loves to connect her artwork with her love of the environment and her many interests in social causes. Her work is soft and usually semi-abstract, depicting a place or time that she has experienced in a non-specific way.
About her work she says: "During all the seasons in Vermont- with new spring greenness, July lilies in profusion, golden autumn meadows, blue-lavender mountains- I try to create uplifting scenes that honor the community-building which I feel so deeply rooted around me." She continues: "I love being an artist, and I love living in Vermont where we have such a widespread resolve to make the world a better place." We think her art reflects this enlightened attitude!
Bonnie Acker is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College, with further study at the Massachusetts College of Art. She has received numerous awards and accolades for her community work, and is a frequent contributor to art shows. Her artwork is on display in public and private collections throughout the region.
