Description

BIDDING TO CONTINUE AT LIVE EVENT!

Original art by Jeff Miller, artist and St. Louis native.  Piece measures approx 8" tall by 6" wide and 2.5" deep.  Inlay wood frame holds ceramic and lead.  Part of an ongoing body of work begun in 1995.  "I was in Greece and was impressed by the shape of the icons that locals would paint saints in.  These intimate, gilded spaces (shaped like a tombstone or the heel of a shoe or an old oven) intrigued me to no end, and still do.  They strike me as portals of some sort; the work being like a visual bridge between the physical/spiritual or the mental/emotional or external/internal.  Most of all, the work is devoid of any outright spiritual imagery- though derived from that source.  I'm inviting the viewer to place their own meaning within the "frame" provided.

This is a Live Event Item.
