Description

This very dark, full-bodied, delicious wine is 100% Syrah with 84% of the grapes coming from Amador County’s famed Shenandoah Valley and 16% from the Huffman’s own front yard in San Rafael.

It’s the latter grapes that give the wine a distinct black pepper flavor.   It has nothing to do with the fact that daughter Abby helped crush the grapes the old fashioned way:  by stomping them (with very clean feet!).

Home winemaking has been as a hobby/addiction of Jared’s for the past eight years.  He won 2nd place at the Marin County Fair last year for his 2006 Syrah.  This 2009 “Steelhead Syrah” is arguably his best wine yet.  It tastes best when warmed to room temperature and either poured with a Venturi or allowed to breath for 20-30 minutes before drinking.  Enjoy with a nice steak, pasta with meat sauce, or a spicy pizza.

This bottle is autographed by Jared Huffman!!
