Assistant Greenskeeper Carl Spackler (played by Bill Murray) is about to start WWIII - against a gopher. And loudmouth Bushwood Guest Al Czervik just doubled a $20,000 bet on a 10-foot putt. Such is Caddyshack, the 1980 comedy that has become a low-brow classic. Caddyshack is about the scheme of a vulgar land developer (Al Czervik played by the incomprable Rodney Dangerfield) who wants to build condominiums on the site of a ritzy country club. But who really cares about the plot. What made the movie were the antics of Chevy Chase, Rodney Dangerfield, Bill Murray and Ted Knight. With Harold Ramis directing, the comic skills of these four blend in a riotous hole-in-one for comedy fans.
