Called "my greatest player" by coach Barry Switzer, Joe Washington had a stellar college football career at OU.  He was a two time First-team All American and finished third in the Heisman Trophy balloting in 1974 and fifth in 1975.  He a member of the College Football Hall of Fame.

Washington played 43 games for the Washington Redskins, scoring 16 touchdowns and was part of the 1082 Super Bowl Championship team.
