This  “Urban escape” babbling brookside four-season vacation condo is a 3 ½ hour drive from Boston on the Rutland Town / Pittsford Vermont town line.  It is 15 minutes from the Killington Pico ski slopes, the famous The Mountain Top Inn Activity Center, and the Chittenden Reservoir.   The town of Wallingford with restaurants, Hartsboro Pottery and Vermont Crafts store is 20 minutes away.  The town of Danby near the Marble quarries, and where the author Pearl Buck retired is a half hour away.  Hiking trails the Green Mountain National Forest and the Long Trail part of the Appalachain Trail are also a half hour away.  Rutland, VT is accessible via Amtrak’s Ethan Allen route that originates from NYC Penn Station.

Property Description

The property’s private rear deck opens onto the constantly roaring waterfall-sound of Otter Creek, literally a stone’s throw away, which runs all year round, even in sub-zero weather. 

The Great Room has a “Cathedral” Ceiling over 14 feet high paneled with knotty shiplap pine 10 and 14 inches wide.  The daybed on the second floor landing under the skylight is the ideal spot for reading, writing or relaxing and can be used as a single bed.   Sit back, watch the wood stove fire and entertain yourself with family or friends.  Appreciate the quiet tranquility or enjoy some music you bring via MP3s or on CD using the Stereo CD Changer.  After a day outdoor activities, swimming, kayaking, hiking or antiquing watch a movie with Dolby Surround Sound on a Samsung 50 + inch flat screen HD LCD/ LED 3D Ready TV with Blu-Ray Player.  Expanded Basic Cable TV, including Comedy Central is provided.   Most light switches are equipped with electrical dimmers to adjust the lighting to your preference, and afford perfect viewing of the wood stove fire in the cool Autumn, Winter and Spring through its large glass door.

The downstairs bedroom has a full size Vermont antique pine bed.  The downstairs bathroom has a Kohler Bubbleject tub.  The larger master bedroom upstairs has a Queen Size bed has its own bathroom with a custom glass block shower enclosure.
