The class chose a quote from Shakespeare in honor of the Year of Literature: 

"One touch of nature makes the whole world kin." - Troilus and Cressida - act lll, scene iii(line175).

The idea of a tree came from the word nature in the quote, but also because of Montessori's focus on nature and the world around the children.

Look close and you will find the children's initials next to each fingerprint!
