Description
1) Magnum: 2006 Terlato & Chapoutier Shiraz "Lieu dit Malakoff"
2) "Wine Dogs USA" book
1) This Shiraz comes from the spectacular Malakoff estate, a low-yielding, high-concentration vineyard site in Central Victoria, Australia. The soil profile of the Malakoff vineyard is remarkably similar to that of France's northern Rhône Valley, and the area's climate is ideal for growing superior quality cool-climate Shiraz. The Wine Spectator writes: "91 pts; Crisp and vibrant. A juicy mouthful of blueberry and plum flavors, with a black pepper note and a pleasing minerality to the finish that give this distinction. Best from 2009 through 2016. 400 cases produced."
2) Wherever wine is made, you’re likely to find a good dog sleeping in the tasting room or wandering the vineyard. The USA Edition of Wine Dogs features over 300 wineries across the United States and over 450 stunning photos of their loyal hounds. Along the way, the mutts and purebreds are interspersed with short essays by Robert Parker Jr, Dan Berger, and Bruce Cass, among many others.
