Matthew Stafford, a 2006 graduate of Highland Park High School, led the team to its first state championship in 50 years. Started as a freshman for the University of Georgia. In 2009, Matthew was the #1 overall draft pick by the Detroit Lions.  He was the starting quarterback his rookie year.
