Since 1999, Laurie Maves has been painting images, figures, landscapes and abstracts in various stages of beauty and vulnerability. She has a Bachelors Degree in art From UW-Madison and a Master's in Art Therapy from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her media of choice: latex & acrylic paints, text, and various assemblage on canvas, recycled wood panels and now recycled handbags. In 2007 she landed a live painting gig at Red Rocks Amphitheater and performed with Zebra Junction, Eric Matelski, Matt Kirk and Comedian Josh Blue.
