Mari L. Werner minored in art at the University of Wisconsin and earned her BS degree from Western Michigan while studying at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Art Students League of Denver. Her works are in Ireland, Mexico; Florida, New York, Atlanta, California and the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center cancer center. Her mask, "The Heart of Love," has pearls as the eyes that see into one's heart with the mirrors reflecting those around you. The tree trunk depicts life being rooted in compassion and the branches reach toward the heavens in a spirit of knowledge.
