Description

For Sandra Langran, 2010 began with her mother's passing, from metastatic cancer as a hospice patient in California. The year also marks 25 years of marriage to her husband Joe. She is experienced in many crafts, especially "needle-arts," but this is her the first drawing & painting in many years. Her brother was just admitted to hospice care. Her mask, "Remembrance," includes a Weeping Willow, as a symbol of sorrow that also symbolizes the flexibility needed during life's constant changes. She takes her inspiration from The Celtic Tree of Life, an ancient symbol of Life, Death & Rebirth. The connection of branches and roots depicts the circle of existence.
