Brooklyn, N.Y. artist Janine Slaker received her BFA from the Maryland Institute, College of Art in sculptural studies. Her work focuses on how social networks are created during collaborative site specific art making. Her mask creates a scene that alludes to the interfluent nature of human perception and our environment. A relationship that can be transformed while spending time in hospice -- a situation where a person's relationship to the owrld around them is heightened and greater understanding of life is created.
