Yoga Techniques at  the Discovery CenterTuesdays, April 13 – May 18 | 6-8 p.m. Evening yoga practice at the Discovery Center designed to relieve everyday stress and tension. Gentle postures, breath work and stretching to  strengthen and relax the body and mind. Ages 18 and over. $75 per participant. Preregister. Spring Break with the Discovery CenterMonday – Friday, Apr. 5-9 | 8:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. Youth ages 8-12 can join the Discovery Center for hands-on fun and learning! Enjoy new activities every day. $65 for members,$75 for non-members. Preregister. “CSI - Ocala Youth” Early Release Days – April 28 & May 26 | 2-4 p.m. Learn crime-solving techniques with Ocala Police Department professionals during this two day session. Youth ages 9-12. $25 per participant for both sessions. Preregister. Future Pilot Flight AcademyWednesdays April 14– May 26 |  6-7 p.m. Jumpstart your aviation career with one of our most popular instructors, Jason Schappert, certified flight instructor. Students 12-15 years old are encouraged to preregister for our “hands-on” knowledge based ground school training.  Have fun and learn the fundamentals of flight at Discovery Center. $45.00 per participant. Water Conservation Protection Thursdays May 6-27 | 6:30-7p.m. The St. John’s River Watershed Action Volunteers WAV program is sponsoring FREE training sessions for volunteers ages 13 and older. Rain barrels are available  for $25.00. Preregister. Savvy Know-How 101Tuesdays April 13, 20, 27 | 12:30 p.m. - 2 p.m. Are you intimidated by your vehicle’s engine? Does the inner workings of household plumbing make you cringe? De-mystify these and other basic challenges in a 3 part course on basic everyday maintenance. It’s not rocket science - just savvy know-how!! Ages 20-75. $20.00 per participant. Preregister. Discover the Pirate Code... Tuesdays May 4-25 | 4:30- 6 p.m. Arrr. Prepare to board the “Flagship Discovery”. Mates  need to enlist on the scallywag crew to learn the tricks  of piracy: ocean travel, ship design, celestial navigation, bountiful treasure hunting and “The Pirate Code”. Ages 9-13. $45.00 per participant. Preregister. Volunteer Opportunities Discovery Center has flourished under the generous donations of time and resources from many of Marion County’s youths. These volunteers assist with program implementation, coaching, teaching, interaction with children and much more. They contribute valuable skills  needed to continue our quality programs throughout  the year.
