Enjoy Elegant Motorcars, Flying Motorbikes & Haute Couture at the 2010 Newport Concours d'Elegance.
Actually a fundraising event for charities, the Concours lets you experience fascinating cars from the early automotive age through more modern times in a world-class setting: Newport, as shown in these past-years' photos.
You and a guest may ride in the Concours Road Tour on Saturday, May 22. Experience a visit to the Herreshoff Marine Museum and America's Cup Hall of Fame, oceanfront dining and a wine tasting, all during one of the finest vintage vehicle events on the East Coast.
After your overnight hotel stay - included - enjoy the all-day Concours itself on Sunday, when classic cars and motorcycles, as well as vintage sports cars, will be shown.
Special Instructions
The high bidder and a guest will be invited to participate in a number of exciting events. The planned list includes:
- The Concours Road Tour* on Saturday, May 22. This includes a visit to Blitehwold Mansion Gardens and Arboretum, Bristol RI and a stop at the Herreshoff Marine Museum and America’s Cup Hall of Fame. This stop includes a tour of the museum and an oceanfront luncheon will be served. Weather permitting, a polo demonstration is anticipated.
- The formal Evening Mansion Dinner d'Elegance, a black-tie event including passed hors d'oeuvres, music and a formal culinary dinner. Also on the docket is a fashion show including original Coco Chanel couture from the Art Deco era.
- The Concours d'Elegance itself. This runs all day Sunday, May 23 and will feature cars ranging in age from the late 19th Century through the early 1970s. A concentration of classic cars and vintage sports cars are expected, as well as a selection of early motorcycles.
Saturday evening hotel accommodations for two at the Best Western Mainstay on Admiral Kalbfus Road are also included.
*If the high bidder owns a sports car or special interest automobile, it may be driven on the tour. Otherwise, the Newport Councours will endeavor to provide seats in another participant's tour vehicle.
