Good for 5 tickets, coach seating on a roundtrip excursion on the Rio Grande Scenic Railroad, San Luis Express Route. Two (2) options to choose from: 

Option 1 – Boarding in Alamosa, CO which is approximately 3.75 hours from Denver and traveling to La Veta, where passengers disembark for a couple hours of shopping and dining before boarding the train for their return to Alamosa.

Option 2 – Boarding in La Veta, CO which is approximately 2.5 hours from Denver and traveling to Alamosa where passengers disembark for a couple hours of shopping and dining before boarding the train for their return to La Veta.  Both options provide a breathtaking trip through the Sangre de Cristo Mountains over La Veta Pass with beautiful high mountain meadows, majestic aspen and pine trees, an array of area wildlife.  Much of the route is not accessible by car which provides passengers dramatic, scenic views many will never see. 

Option 1 is available year-round.  However, only available on weekends Nov 1, 2010 thru May 23, 2011.  Option 2 is available only on the weekends May 29, 2011 thru November 11, 2011.
