The wine shows intense ruby color. The very seductive nose reveals fresh crushed berries of cassis, rose petal, strawberry and cherry essence. The attack is dense with soft velvety texture and layered with fruit. It expresses the finesse and harmony of a “grand vin.” It is very delicate on the palate and still has amazing concentration and length. The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon … is a limited cuvee …made of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Petit Verdot. It has put on some weight since I had it last year and exhibits a pure cassis nose intermixed with some earth, cedar, and spice box. The wine has a full body, and good sweetness. The overall impression is one of exceptional elegance and length, and as it is about to go into bottle unfiltered, seems to possess more character than it did last year. Anticipated maturity: 20102025.
